the flower father.

around mid-june, graduation ceremonies started to commence. i drove by school pretty often for what not reasons, and i noticed traffic started to build in this particular intersection. i reasoned that part of the traffic was due to graduation ceremonies, but on one particular saturday i noticed this middle-aged man wearing a well-worn suit, selling flowers at the street corner to cars driving by for graduations. my heart went out to the man because he was sacrificing his saturday to sell these flowers instead of spending time with his family. my heart than sank when i saw a little girl playing in the grass beside him, keeping what seemed like her dad company while he had to work. at that moment i wish i had money to buy all his flowers so he could go home with his daughter and spend quality time with her instead of standing on the street. i'm sure if must have been unpleasant for the father to stand there, without a proper booth and running to car windows in order to sell his flowers. but i admire his passion to provide for his family no matter what kind of job.

i think we easily forget the sacrifices people, particular our parents, have made in order to put us where we are. i am definitely one of those who forget and take the special moments i have for granted. my heart goes out to the flower father and his family. and the next time i see him selling flowers, i sure hope to buy them from him and i hope you do too.
